From 13:30 to 15:00 p.m. on December 8, the School of International Education successfully held the 6th English corner of this semester in classroom 311, Jingde building, with the theme of effective oral English communication strategies. The event was hosted by foreign teacher Royce. 27 students from 10 majors participated in the activity.
At the beginning of the activity, foreign teacher Royce asked the students to discuss the methods of English learning and rank the importance of writing, speaking, grammar, vocabulary and listening. Royce believes that the top three are listening, speaking and vocabulary”. If you can go to the country where you learn the language, it is naturally the best. If not, what are the alternatives ways? Students can come to the English corner; You can practice with people around you who also want to improve their English ability; You can watch your favorite English programs and movies, listen to English songs. Also you can use English in daily life, try to think directly in English, and then express it. Royce cited some conversation and listening skills, organized students to discuss multiple issues, and encouraged students to try bravely and not be afraid of making mistakes. The activity had a warm atmosphere and practical content, which provided a new method for students' English learning.
