Recently, the high-profile 2024 Belt and Road Youth Sports Exchange Week (Jiangsu) opened grandly at the Luoma Lake Beach Park in Suqian. Jointly guided by the Sports Exchange Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and the Leading Group Office for Promoting the Belt and Road Construction Work in Jiangsu Province, this exchange week aims to strengthen friendship and cooperation among young people from countries along the Belt and Road route as well as to promote mutual recognition and cultural exchanges through sports exchanges.
The School of International Education attached great importance to this event and actively organized a team of international students to participate in the orienteering competition. On May 31st, eight international students from countries such as Nigeria, Congo, Morocco, and Tajikistan, led by Director of the Students’ Affairs Office, Wang Ting, arrived in Suqian to exchange ideas with international students from other universities and enjoy this sports feast. In the competitions, our international students demonstrated outstanding physical fitness, excellent teamwork spirit and perseverance spirit, winning warm applause and widespread praise from the audience.
Our college has organized international students to participate in the Belt and Road Youth Sports Week for several years, not only organizing and recommending outstanding international students to compete and exchange ideas with those from other universities, but also showing them the history, culture, and local customs of Jiangsu. By participating in such activities, our international students not only exercise their bodies and improve their skills but also broaden their horizons and gain insights through these exchanges. They have all expressed their intention to seize this opportunity to continue studying diligently and contribute to the promotion of friendly cooperation and cultural exchanges among countries along the Belt and Road.
