On June 12th, the inaugural Cross-application Innovation Forum on Artificial Intelligence was successfully held. President Wen Huabing was invited to attend the conference, accompanied by Director Wang Hongming of the Science and Technology Department and Director Chen Yong of the Smart Campus Construction Department.
Vice President Zhong Wenqi of Southeast University, Deputy Director Chi Yu of Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Deputy Director Chen Zhi of Provincial Cyberspace Administration Office, and Director Lu Ruifeng of China Software Valley Management Committee attended the conference and delivered speeches. The forum invited numerous National Outstanding Young Scholars (Changjiang Scholars), National Four-Youth Scholars, experts from advisory and decision-making institutions, and leaders of renowned enterprises to give keynote speeches and participate in open discussions on the cross-innovation and application of artificial intelligence technologies in fields such as ‘Biomedicine’, ‘Digital Economy’, and ‘Smart Government’. Concurrently, the appointment ceremony for experts on the ‘Industry Advisory Committee’ and the branding ceremony for the ‘AI Empowerment Station’ were held.
At the forum, ‘Haizhihang’ AI Station project, jointly undertaken by our university and key laboratory awarded by the Ministry of Education of new generation Artificial Intelligence Technology and Cross-application at Southeast University, was officially branded, marking a new phase in the cooperation between the two universities in the field of artificial intelligence and laying a solid foundation for future in-depth exploration and innovative development. This project, centered on the strategy of becoming a maritime power, relies on a smart application integration platform to explore the application of new technologies in the maritime sector. It focuses on the specific applications of cutting-edge technologies such as visual inspection, AI drones, smart inspections, and digital twins in intelligent shipbuilding, marine equipment, and smart ports for smart manufacturing and operations.
During the conference, Wen Huabing engaged in thorough exchanges with the attending leaders and experts, discussing the theme of ‘Focusing on Cross-disciplinary Integration and Extracting New Qualities’, jointly exploring the concept of ‘AI Plus’, and delving into key issues.
